“Pam took on a lot of the production for the job and made my life so much easier, so all I had to really think about was how to shoot everything. She did all the form filling and paperwork and took a massive weight off my shoulders, and I would not hesitate to get her in on another shoot.”

Frequently asked

Do you need a permit to photograph a building?
Often, yes. Shooting on or from private land needs the landowner's permission, and using the image commercially generally needs a property release from whoever controls the building. Many spaces that feel public, including squares, stations and estates, are privately managed and require consent for commercial photography.
How long does it take to clear locations and access?
From a few days for a straightforward city permit to several weeks for ports, transport networks, hospitals and regulated premises. These run on their own calendars and cannot be accelerated, which is why we start permissions before booking photographers rather than after.
How far ahead should a multi-market shoot be booked?
Six to eight weeks before the first shoot day for a straightforward commission, longer where regulated sites are involved. The constraint is rarely photographer availability. It is permits, site access and security clearance.
What most often delays a photography project?
Internal approval. Permissions are slow but predictable, and we start them first. Sign-off spread across several stakeholders in several markets is the variable that most reliably extends a schedule. One named approver with authority is the single biggest saving available to a client.
