Who we are
This site is operated by Global Assignments Agency (“Global Assignments Agency”, “we”, “us”), registered in England & Wales, company number 10757701. For any question about your data, contact us at hello@globalassignments.agency or via our Contact page.
What we collect and why
Depending on how you interact with us, we hold:
- Enquirers: your name, email and enquiry details, to respond and discuss a potential commission.
- Clients: contact, brief and billing details, to deliver and invoice a commission.
- Photographers and contributors: contact, portfolio, rate and licensing details, to work together.
- Photographic subjects: see below.
We also use data to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to send marketing only where you’ve asked for it. We don’t sell your data.
Photographic subjects
Our work involves photographing identifiable people, which counts as personal data. Where required, subjects sign a model (and, for private locations, property) release covering how their image may be used. We keep those releases for the duration of the agreed licence, and for as long as the work is used to promote Global Assignments Agency and the photographer.
If you were photographed on one of our commissions and want to understand or withdraw that permission, contact us at hello@globalassignments.agency; though images already licensed to and published by a client may be subject to that release and licence.
Cookies
This website doesn’t use analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies or tracking. If that changes, we’ll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
Sharing your information
We share data only with the providers who help us run the business: our host, email and accounting providers, and the photographers, clients and suppliers involved in a specific commission, each under contract, and only as needed. We may also disclose data where the law requires it. We don’t sell or rent your data, or share it for third-party marketing.
Some of those providers are based outside the UK, including the service that delivers this site and the one that relays the enquiry form to us. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK we rely on the UK’s international data transfer agreement or addendum, or on a country the UK has judged to offer adequate protection.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to a commission: 24 months. Client and commission records: for the length of the relationship, then 6 years for HMRC purposes. Model and property releases: for the duration of the licence they cover, then 6 years, as the record of the permission granted. Marketing consents: until you unsubscribe. We securely delete or anonymise data once we no longer need it.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep personal data secure and limit access to those who need it: established providers for email, hosting and accounting, access limited to the people working on a given commission, encrypted connections in transit, and encrypted storage and backups for shoot material and business records.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your data, object to processing, request portability, or withdraw consent at any time. Contact us at hello@globalassignments.agency or via our Contact page and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.
